דיקי f. (~~~~) right, justice, punishment, satisfaction. Ex. R. s. 19 בבני שלהם ד׳ עשיתי (not דייקי) I gave them (the Gibeonites) satisfaction (for their wrongs) on My children (II Sam. XXI, 18q.). -- Cant. R. to II, 7 (ref. to Is. XXXII, 1) [read] שלו ד׳ שגובה עד until He collects His debt of justice (punishes Israel for his sins). Gen. R. s. 45 דידי ד׳ תבע Ar. (ed. דקיון) plead my cause; a. e. -- Num. R. s. 22; Tanh. Matt. 3 [read] שלכם ד׳ אלא אינו מתבקשים it is your cause which is taken up. -- Pl. דיקין. Y. R. דיקינתין, דייק׳ m. pl. (~~~~~~~; די for הי or יי to avoid the use of 1etters of the Tetragrammaton; Ar. reads ייקינטין) hyacinth, a precious stone. Ex. R. s. 38, end ד׳ לוי (notדייקני׳) Levi was represented on the Highpriests' breast-plate by a hyacinth (h.ברקת). Y'lamd.to Deut. X, 1, quot. in Ar. ויי׳ המרגליות (Yalk. ib. 854 דייקוסנין, דייקינטין, corr. acc.) the pearls and hyacinths. Gen. R. s. 79, end (after interpreting קשט in קשיטה,Gen. XXXIII, 19) what. function have Pod He here? [ead] וזמרגדין ד׳ חליות אלו וכ׳ שדרכן (v. ׳Rashi a. l. a. Yalk. ib. 134) these are the links of hyacinths and smaragds with which jewelry is decorated, i. e. the vowel letters connecting the consonants, but which also have an allegorical meaning (v. the sen- tence following; וכ׳ כותב מי).

דירה I f. (preced.) human dwelling. Yoma 10a ד׳ בית. a compartment in the Temple designated for a dwelling. Ih b קבע דירת permanent residence, opp. עראי ד׳. Ib. ד׳ וכ׳ כרחה בעל a dwelling not freely chosen (as the High- priests in the Temple) is not called a dwelling (to require M'euzah). Ib. 11b לדד׳ מיוחד, v. יחד; a. fr. -. Pl. דירות. Pesik.
