הדר m. (b. h.; preced.) 1) adornment, crown, beauty, glory. Ab. Zar. 24b הדרך ברוב in the abundance of thy glory. Gen. R. s. 39 (ref. to Ps. CX, 3) וכ׳ עולם של מהדרו from the glory of the world (the East) have I consecrated thee; (Yalk. Ps. 869 וכ׳ עולם של בהררי קדש בהררי 'in the mountains of holiness, among the mountains, i. e. the distinguished, of the world &c.). -- Y. Succ. הדרניאל pr. n. Hadarniel (surrounding God), name of an angel. Pesik. R. s. 20.
*הדרניקוס m. (a corrupt. of ~~~~~~ or ~~~~~- t~~, cmp. הדרוקן; for Var. lect. v. nfra) one alicted with dropsy. Ber. 58b ה׳ ואת הננס ואת (Ms. M. הרדינקס ואת, Ms. F. ה׳ והננס); Tosef. ib. VII VI), 3 (absent in ed. Zuck., added in note); Tanh. Pinh. 10 דרניקוס ואת הבהקנין .. .; ed. Bub. ib. 1 הננס . . . הדרקונוס ואת (Mss. הדריקינום, הדרקוניס); Y. Ber. IX, 13b bot. הדרניתא f (הדר; v. הדרנא) swindler, a woman who sells property and afterwards reclaims it on a mortgage held by herself. Keth. 97a ה׳ לא ליקר דלא (some ed. הדרינתא) that they may not call her a swindler.
