*הטליס (a popular exclamation containing a dis- guised oath; v. כינוי) I swear Gen. R. s. 87; Yalk. Gen 145; Yalk. Job 920.
הטמנה f. (טמן) preserving, esp. (v. Sabb. IV, 1) putting a dish n a warm place or under covers to keep it warm for the Sabbath. Sabb. 39a. Ib b וכ׳ ה׳ בטלה the permission to keep a dish in matter which adds heat was abolished. Ib. 50a לה׳ יחדן he designated them to be used for keeping dishes warm; a. fr.

Mets. 4a I owe thee only fifty Zuz, וה׳ and here they are. -- Hence (law) helakh, th e in- stantaneous delivery of the amount confessed, while the creditor claims a larger amount.
