הלא (b. h. הלאה; cmp. האל) further on, with prefix ל. Lev. R. s. 30 וכ׳ נחל ולה׳ הכא מן (ed. wil. נחל הכא מן) from now and onward we shall begin a new account. Y. R. Hash. II, 58b top דלהל תרעא ההוא מן (read ולהלא) from this court session and for all future ones.

הלה (radit. pronunc. הלה) m. (cmp. הלא) that one there, this one; (mostly in legal proceedings) the person concerned. B. Mets. III, 2. Shebu. VI, 6, sq. וה׳ וכ׳ אומר and the defendant says &c. B. Mets. 113b; a. v. fr. [Eduy. IV, 9 תצא ה׳ fem., v. הלז. -- Pl. הללו. Erub. 54a וכ׳ וה׳ נוצצין ה׳ these blossom and those fade. Hor. 14a וכ׳ שמימיהם ה׳ הם מי who are those whose waters we drink &c. ? - Bets. 15b וכ׳ בעלי ה׳ these here (now leaving the assembly) are &c.; a. fr.
הלהולתא, v. חולחולתא.

הלום, v. אלום.
הלום (b. h. הלם; cmp. הלא) here, hither; thus far. Zeb. 102a (play on הלם, q. v.) מלכות אלא ה׳ אין hiilom alludes to royalty, as we read (II Sam. VII, 18) &c. ה׳ עד thus far (to be king). Ib. וכ׳ ה׳ דכתיב היכא וכל does halom in the Bible always intimate royalty for all time to come?
הלז m. (b. h.; v. הל־ a. זה) this here, that there. Snh. 11b ה׳ סופר ed. (missing in Ms. M.; Tosef. ib. II, 6 הלה, Var. הלך); Y. ib. I, 18d top; Y. Maas. Sh. הלזה f. (לו III) talk, sneer. Tosef. Keth. II, 3 נפלה כ׳ ׳ cd. Zuck. (Var. חלזה, חלזון, corr. acc.) talk (against the court's action) spread in town, opp. ערער legal protest.
הלזו, v. חלו.
*הלטאה f.=לטאה, a species of lizard. Pes. 88b ה׳ נמצאת a lizard was found. Hull. 122b דה׳ גישתא the touch of the skin of &c. [In Mishn., Tosefta a. Sifra לטאה, with defin. article ה.]

הליכה f. (b. h.; הלך) going, going away; walking; run. Pes. 8b בהליכתן on their going (opp. חזירה, return). Keth. 111a בה׳ תרבה אל do not walk too much. Sot. 12b וכ׳ זו ה׳ אין this 'going' (Ex. II, 5) means death. Hull. I, 2 הליכתה בדרך in the direction in which its inden- tations run (not against them); a. fr. -- [Y. B. Kam. X, 7b bot. הה׳ מן שגזלו, read; ההלכה, v. Y. Keth. הלין (=היילין) which? what? Targ. Y. Ex. I, 10 בה׳ דינין by what laws.
הלך (b. h.) to go, go away; to walk. Yeb. 84a כשהלכתי וכ׳ when I left home to study with &c.
