זוהמא, זוהמה f. (זהם) 1) froth; filth, decayed matter, evil smell. Pes. 42b הז׳ את שואבת absorbs the froth of boiling meat. Ter. X, 1 הז׳ את ליטול to carry off foul matter; Y. Ab. Zar. זווא I, זוזא m. (זוי; cmp. זיג, fr. זוג) pair, set; change of clothes; scissors (corresp. to, and interchanging with זוגא). Meg. 16a זווא לי לית Ms. M. I have no scissors; ז׳ ליה ושדא אליהו אתא Elijah came and dropped a pair of scissors; (ed. זוזא, a. entirely differ. vers.; Ar. זווא). B. Mets. 116a bot. דסרבלי זוגא ed.
