R. to I, 1 וכ׳ ט׳ דקרי מאן I will go to whosoever explains the Bible well etc. -- Y. Shebu. VII, 38a bot. ט׳ הא אתא אין if he appears, it is well. Y. Shek. IV, 48a top כן וטבות Bab. ed. (Y. ed. וטבא) and so it is right. Y. Maas. Sh. I, 52d top כן וטבבו (corr. acc.) -- Hebr. form; טבית. Meil. 17a אמר ט׳ he spoke well (he is right).

טבוח m. (infin. of טבח) 1) slaughtering and pre- paring the pilgrim's offering. Hag. II, 4 (17a) וכ׳ ט׳ יום the slaughtering day is observed after the Sabbath. Y. ib. 78a bot. טבוחה הוא יומה its day (the festive day it- self) is its slaughtering day. -- 2) Taboah, name of a wind- storm (demon). Sabb. 129b.

טבח, (b. h.) to prepare a feast, esp. to slaughter and dress meat, to cook. Keth. 4a טבוח טבחו his meat for the feast is ready (for cooking). -- Bets. 25a (expl. טביחה בית) וכ׳ שטובחת מקום the place where the animal cooks (di. gests) its food.
טבח ch. same. Ber. 56a אכלת ולא טבחת thou shalt prepare and not eat. Sabb. 129b וכ׳ להו ט׳ הוה it (the wind or demon טבוח) would have feasted on them (the Israelites), on their flesh and their blood; a.e. -- V. מטבחייא. Pa. טבח same. Gen. R. s. 57, end טבחון טבח Tebah (Gen. XXII, 24) means, 'Slaughter them v. גחמון.
