טרחא, טיר׳ f. (preced. wds.) trouble, labor, dis- comfort. Tem. 24a וכ׳ טי׳ טרח דקא because he would under- take a labor unfit for him (on the Holy Day). B. Mets. 93b יתירתא לכ׳ with reference to special painstaking. Shebu. 45a bot. מלתא ליה טי׳, vv. טרח I. M. Kat. 13a ט׳ולא משום מועד ט׳ Ms. M. (ed. only ט׳ משום) in the festive week it is for- bidden only for being a labor to some extent; a. fr.
טרחות, טיר׳ f. 1) same. Y. Ber. II, 5a bot. טרחותם מרובה the trouble of climbing them down is very great. Pesik. Bayom, p. 193a הדרכים כ׳ the trouble of travelling. Cant. R. to VIII, 6 טיר׳ סימן . . שהגשמים for there are those rains which betoken trouble &c. -- Pesik. Shek. p. 20b; Pesik. R. s. 16 end; Ex. טרטט (רטרט=טרט, cmp. געגע; v. 2 טרוט) to plait straps, to strap. Tosef. Kel. B. Mets. VI, 1 משיטרטט ed. Zuck. (Var. משירטט) until the leather for the strap-mattress is plaited; (cmp. Kel. XVI, 4).
טרטיאות, טרטראות f. pl. (cacophem. perver- sions of תיאטראות; cmp. meanings of טרט in טרוט, טרטט, a. of טרי, a. simmilar perversions in אצטדיא &c.) theatres, shows. Lam. טרטימר (תרט׳ טרת׳) m. (~~~~~~~, S.) triens, one third of an as, a coin and a weight (about three ounces). Snh. VIII, 2 בשר ט׳ (Bab. ed. 70a ת׳; Ms. F. כ׳, in Gemarah טרדימר; Y. Mish. טרת׳, Gemarah 26a טרט׳) a triens (worth?) of meat. Ib. 70a וכ׳ זה ט׳ (ת׳) I do not know what this taremar means, but judging from R. Jose doubling the standard for wine, it may be in- ferred that t. is half a Manah; Y. l. c. ליטרא חצי ט׳ t. is half a Litra. (V. Zuckerm. Talm. Munzen p. 8).
*טרמין (denom. of טורטיני) to balance, i. e. to ride with one foot on each side of the animal. Nidd. 14a דמטרטין when he rides like a man on horseback, מט׳ דלא when he rides like a woman.

טרי, טרא [to set in motion,] 1) to shake. Hull. 45b לרישיה טרייה shook his head constantly; [Ar.] he bumped his head, shocked his brainl. Ib. 51a, v. טרח II. --- 2) to throw, cast; to sguirt, drip. Tam. 32b באפיה ט׳ sprinkled his face (with that water). Sabb. 108b וכ׳ למטרא מהו Ar. (ed. למימשי, Ms. O. למישרא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 8) is it permitted to drop some of this water into the eye? --- Lev. R. s. 25 וכ׳ טרי יהי (not טרו) shall cast one fig iu his face; Koh. R. to II, 20 טריה יהא (read; חד טרי יהא).
