ישוע (b. h.) pr. n. m. Jeshua, 1) name of several per- sons. Yad. III, 5 Bab. ed. (Mish. יהושע). Y. M. Kat. III, s2c ייש׳. - Tosef. ישיבה f. (ישב) 1) sitting, rest. Hag. 15a . . . למעלה וכ׳ ולאי׳ עמידה לא Ms. M. (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l.) on high there is no standing up and no sitting down (effort and rest), no emulation &c. Yoma 69b, a. fr. בעזרה י׳ אין none were allowed to sit down in the Temple court. Gen.
