כרכוב m. (b. h. כרכב, v. כרכב) a rim around the al- tar. Zeb. 62a כיור זה . . כ׳ איזהו what is meant by Atarkob Rabbi says, a panel work; R. כרכום II, (כרקום, כורכ׳) m. (v. כרם, cmp. כר) [encircling,] 1) troop of siege, stage of siege. Keth. II, 9; Ab. Zar. 71a כ׳ שכבשוה עיר (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 80) a. town which troops of siege have taken. Gitt. III, 4 על כ׳ שהקיפה עיר concerning a husband living in a town during a siege (that he is legally presumed to be alive), opp. to כ׳ שכבשה עיר. Y. Keth. II, 26; Y. Gitt.
