מורשא, מורשה m. (cmp. רישא) praiecting point. Ber. 24a דכובע מ׳ the top of the cap (the bag containing the Tfllin). Erub. 76b; Succ. 8a דקרנאתא מ׳ the projection of the eorners (of a square inscribed in a circle). B. Bath. 3a מ׳ דקרנתא the prjections of a rough stone wall. Sabb. 77b דכתית קמא מ׳ the top of the scab, opp. הודרנא. Ib. 100b לה אית מ׳ ודילמא Ms. M. perhaps the ground in the water has a projecting eminence (v. מורשה f. (b. h.; ירש) inheritance. Snh. 59a (ref. to Deut. XXXIII, 4) להם ולא מ׳ לנו it is our inheritance, not theirs. Ib. וכ׳ מיגזל מ׳ דאמר מאן according to him who reads morashah, he (the gentile studying the Law) robs (us). Ber. 57a, a. e. מאורשה אלא מ׳ תקרי אל read not (Deut. l, c.) morashah inheritance, but m'orasah (betrothed), v. ארס. Ex. R. s. 33. מורשיא, v. מרשיא.
מורתא f. (v. מור), שחיקתא מ׳ a solution of pounded myrrh-gum. Y. Ber. VI, 10a bot..
מוש (b. h.; v. משש) to feel, touch. Nif. נמוש, part. pl. נמושות [gropers, searchers,] the last troop of gleaners. Peah VIII, 1 הנ׳ משילכו from the time the last gleaners go. Y. ib. 20d בסוף . ׳ שמן נקרא למה וכ׳ why are they called n'moshoth (searchers)? Because they come out last. Ib. וכ׳ ׳ תני תני׳ אית (not נמושית) some read n'moshoth, others mashoshoth &c.; he who reads mash. calls them so, because they feelh their way in walk- ing (old people); B. Mefs. 21b; Taan. 6b וכ׳ סבי ׳ מאי what is meant by u'mosboth Old men walking on a. staff;(oth. opin.) וכ׳ לקוטי, v. לקוטא. Y. S. a. l. note; ed. incorr.) let that woman have her shroud in readiness. B. Kam. 92b מוש לגביך אוכפא prepare a saddle for thy back, v. אוככפאא. Af. אמיש to allow totouch. TTarg. Jud. מושב m. (b. h.; ישב) seat, sitting. Y. Ber. IX, 13a top בקדושה מושבו His sitting (in judgment) iis in holiness(with ref. to Ps. XLVII, 9). Meg. IV, 3 (23b) ומ׳ מעמד the ere- mony of rising and sitting down at funerals; a. fr. - מושב לצים, v. לן. -- Esp. מ׳ (טומאת) the uncleanness caused by an. unclean man's sitting, the unclean seat (Lev. XV, 4). Kel. I, 5 ומ׳ משכב מטמא causes uncleanness of couch and seat; Zab. I, 1; a. fr. -- [Hull. 124a זב מושב the privy chair of . one affficted with gonorrhoea; Ar. reads; מושבזג, מפבזג, a leather seat of a folding chair, v. וג.] -- Pl. מושבות. Lev. R. s. 1; Tanh. Vayikra 1 (ref. to Prov. XXV, 7) רחק וכ׳ מ׳ מקומך מן keep removed from thy place two or three seats (behind that which is due to thy position), that. they may say to thee, go up.

מושיע m. (b. h.; ישע) protector, aid, esp. (by adopt- ing the phrase Deut. XXII, 27 ) means of saving a be-- trothed damsel assaulted. Snh. 73a דבר בכל לה מ׳ יש הא להושיע שיכול but if there is aid, any means to save her is permitted (even by the death of tthe assailant). Ib. דש וכ׳ אין מ׳ לה if there is another way of saving her, yotu. dare not kill him.

מושכי, מ׳ כרך pr. n. pl. the FEort of the AMoschi, a. people whose territory formed the southern part of Col- chis. Kidd. 72a; Yeb. 17a.
מושכני pr. n. pl. 5Moxoene, a town east of the upper Tigris sources. Kidd. 71b מ׳ עד Babylonia extends (for genealogical purposes) as far as M. Ib. 72a ומ׳ לחוד מושכי לחוד(K'rakh) Moshki t(v. preced.]iisdifferentrom Moxoene.

מות, מות (b. h.) to die. Gitt. VII, 3, a. fr. מתי אם if I should die. Gen. R. s. 9 (play on עאד, Gen. I, 31). והנה מות טוב behold, it is good to die. -- Kidd. 72b וכ׳ ר׳ כשמת when R. . . died. M.
