מטטרון, (מיט׳) pr. n. (=מטרטרון, redupl. ofגטר, v. מטרא) [hief of the Service,] AMattatron (Mittatron), nammme of the chief of the angels (corresp. to הפנים שר). Targ. Y. IGen. V, 24 רבא ספרא מי M., the chief recorder. - Snh. 38b (ref. to Ex. XXIV, 1, cmp. Targ. Y. a. l.) וכ׳ מ׳ זה that is M. whose name is like that of his master (with ref. to Ex. XXIII, 21, cmp. מטי, מטא, מטה (=h. מצא) 1) to strelch, reach; to arrive at; to obtain; to happen to. Targ. Gen. XI, 4 (Y. II ממטי). Targ. O. ib. X, 19 (h. text באכה). Targ. II Kings XIX, 26. Targ. Koh. VIII, 14; a. fr. -- Targ. Esth. V, 2 [read:] לידה ומטת and it (the scepter) reached her hand (v. Meg. 15b). -- Snh. 109a וכ׳ להאי מ׳ כי when he arrived at a certain inn. Keth. 63a לגביה מטיא כי when she came near him. Ib. וכ׳ מעלי מ׳ the eve of the Day of Atone- ment came. R. Hash. 12b משמיה בה ומטו יוחנן א״ר אסי א״ר וכ׳ said R. A. in the name of R. מטכסא (מיט׳, מטק׳, סה...) m. (~~~~~a) sitk. Y. Kil. IX, 32a top מ׳ השיריין shirayin (Mish. ib. IX, 2) is silk. Sabb. 20b, v. כלך. Y. B. Mets. IV, 9 bot. למ׳ דינרין יהב gave an earnest money on silk. Lev. R. s. 34 information was brought against them מ׳ בהדין. .. כד that they dealt in silks (v. Sm. Ant. s. v. Sericum). B. Kam. 117b ההיא וכ׳ אמ׳ דאחוי one informed (the royal officers) of the silk goods of R. A.; a. fr. - Pl. מטכסין, מיט, מטכסי, מטק׳. Targ. Esth. I, 6 (h. text בוי). -Gen. מטלול m. (טלל I) shade, cover. Targ. Y. Num. XIV, 14.
מטלון m. (טלל, v. טלטל; cmp. Jer. XXII, 26) exile, place of banishment. Num. R. s. 7 טרודין של מ׳ the place of exile for those condemned to banishment. Deut. R. s. 2; ib. s. 6, v. טרד.
מטלונית f. (diminutive of מטלית) a small patch. - Pl. מטלוניות, v. מטלית.

מטלטלא m. (טלטל) 1) exile, homeless. - Pl. מטלטליא. Targ. Mic. IV, 6, sq.; Targ. Zeph. III, 19 (h. text הצלעה). - 2) (mostly pl.) מטלטלי, מיט --= next w. Yeb. 99a מ׳ עבדא וכ׳ ומ׳ a slave is chattel, and chattel (in R. Meir's opinion) is seizable for widowhood; Keth. 81b וכ׳ לא לכתובה וכ׳ and chattel is not seizable &c.; a. fr.
מטלטלין, מייט׳ m. pl. (טלטל) movable goods, chattel, opp. מקרקע immovable property. Kidd. 26b; B. Bath. 156b הרבה מ׳ לו היו had a large fortune in movables. B. Mets. 11b, v. אגב. Tosef. Kidd.
