aversion. --מ׳־ מחמת, v. מוקצה. Y. Maas. Sh. II, 53b bot. ; Y. Sabb. XIV, 14c היא מאוס it is a nauseous manipulation (and therefore forbidden on the Sabbath, v. מוקצה).

מידבא, מדבא (b. h.) pr. n. pl. Atedeba, a town on the Eastern side of Jordan. Mikv. XII, 1.
מידה, v. מדה.
מידי, מידי m. (cmp. of יי, ד־ a. מן or מאי) 1) [what- ever it may be,] something, anything. Targ. Job VI, 6 (sec. vers.). Targ. II Esth. I, 9. - Gitt. 56b וכ׳ מ׳ מינאי בעי ask something of me that I may grant thee. Hor. 13b . דילמא מ׳ מדרשא בי אאיכא. . (Ms. M. מילתא) is perhaps something (a conspiracy against me) going on at college ? Snh. 38a מ׳ ולא קאמרי הוו ולא and they did not speak at all. Gitt. 14a מ׳ ולא גביה פש ולא there was no surplus whatever in his account. Sabb. 62b מ׳ ולא ליה אמר ולא and he said nothing to him (did not object). Ib. וכ׳ ביה דאית מ׳ כל whatever is connected with enjoyment. מידם m. (=מידיי, with enclitic מ for מא) anything. Targ. Prov. XXVII, 7 דמריר מ׳ כל (ed. Lag. דמרירותא; Ms. מירם, corr. acc.) anything however bitter.

מיהא, מיהת (contr. of מי or מן a. הוא, הות) [what- ever it be, be it as it may,] however, at all events. B. Kam. 106b מידי אודי לא הא מ׳ השתא Ms. M. (ed. אודי לא מ׳ השתא) now, however, you see, he has not confessed. B. Mets. 84b וכ׳ לא ממך גדול מ׳ בתורה in knowledge, at all events, (even according to thy own admission)he was thy superior, (though) I do not know (cannot judge). Sabb. 125a אודי וכ׳ מ׳ לי do at least admit that &c., v. איזי. Nidd. 6b קתני וכ׳ ככרות מ׳ at all events it says loaves of T'rumah'; a. v. fr. [Not to be confounded with מהא from this, v. הא.]

מיומס (not ם...) m. (~~~p~, S., majuma) lMay- day; largess (to soldiers); a kind of mook sea-fight (in Rome). Tanh., ed. Bub., Sh'mini 8; Num. R. s. 10 שבט כל וכ׳ מ׳ לו היה . . . each tribe had its own May-day. Midr. Till. to Ps. XVIII, 13 [read as in ed. Bub. ] הולך וכשהוא שלו למ׳ but when he (the King) goes out to celebrate his majuma; Yalk. Sam. 160 (Pesik. R. s. 21 לפיוס; Ex. R. s. 29 אמירה II; Sifre Num. 102 לשלום). -[Pl. מיומסאות. Lev. R. s. 5 Ms. M. (ed. דימסיאות).] מיושב (ישב) 1) (adv.) seated, in a sitting position, opp. מעומד. Shebu. 38b, v. מעומד. M. Kat. 20b דמ׳ אידכר קרע he recalled to mind that he had rent his garment while seated; a. fr. -2) sedate, collected, v. ישב.
*מיות f. pl. (homiletically=מאות) hundreds, (at least) two hundred. Num. R. s. 13 (play on קוממיות, Lev. XXVI, 13) מ׳ של קומה a height of hundreds (Tanh. B'resh. 6; ed. Bub. 18 אממה מאה). Num.R. l. c. מאתים מיות מאה קום (not קוף) kom (=קומה) is one hundred cubits, meyoth is two hundred (which combined makes three hundred); Gen. R. s. 12; Tanh. l. c.
