מלבנא ch. same, a quadrangular piece. B. Mets. 116b רווחא מ׳ a wide piece of cemented bricks of a fallen wall (Ms. F, רווחא ליבנא a brick wider than the usual size, v. Rashi a. l.).
*מלבנתא, מלבינ׳ f (preced. wds.) quadranglar frame. Targ. Y. Num. XXXIII, 20 [prob. to be read] דבניין מלבינתא (pl.) building moulds.
מלבשתא, v. דבשתא.
מלג (cmp. Syr. מלג, P. Sm. 2 131) to pluck, to strip (of hair, feathers &c.). Tosef. Bets. III, 19 וכ׳ את מולגין you may cleanse the head and legs of an animal (by scalding).
מלג ch. same, to pluck (cmp. Pesh. Deut. XXIII, 26). Gen. R. s. 45, beg. (expl. מלוג) מליג מליג את מה Ar. what- ever thou pluckest, is plucked; (ed. מלוג מלוג דתימא כמה as you say, pluck, pluck'); Y. Yob. VII, 8a bot. דאת כמה מליג מליג אמר (corr. acc.).
מלגז m. (transpos. of מזלג) pitch-fork; the cook's fork. Sabb. XVII, 2 (122b; Mish. a. Ms. M. מזלג); Y. ib. 16b top לקטן עליו לתת המ׳ את the kitchen fork to place food for a child upon it. Tosef.ib. XXI), 7; Sifra Vayikra, Hobah, ch. IX, Par. 7, a. e., v. לג.

מלוא, מלא m. (b. h.; מלא) fulness, contents. Mikv. III, 1, sq. ועוד מלואו ממנו שיצא עד until a quantity equal. to its original contents and something besides have run off. Y. Succ. I, 51d top וכ׳ במלואה שנפרצה אכסדרה an exedra which is (on one side) entirely open towards the public road. Ib. bot. דלי של כמלואו as far as the bucket is let down into the water (for filling it). Hull. II, 3 אם צואר מלא בסכין יש if the slaughtering knife has the length of the width of the neck. Kidd. 33a עיניו מ׳ as far as his eye can reach. מלוג m. (מלג, v. מלג) [plucking,] usufruct. - מ׳ עבדי (נכסי) a wife's estate of which the husband has the fruition wwithout responsibility for loss or deterioration, contrad. to ברזל צאן, v. ברזל. Yeb. VII, 1; Tosef. ib. IX, 1. Keth. 79b מ׳ בהמת a domestic animal belonging to the wife &c. -Gen. R. s. 45 וכ׳ היתה מ׳ שפתת Hagar was a handmaid of Sarah whom Abraham had to support but could not sell; a. fr.
*מלוגא m. ch. (v. מלג) a hairless skin, bag. - דשטרי ב׳ a bag containing documents. Keth. 85a. B. Bath. 151a.
מלוגמא, מלוגמה c. (~~~~~~~) any emollient. plaster, poultice. Sifra B'har ch. I (ref. to Lev. XXV, 6) מ׳ ממנה לעשות ולא but not to use (the fruits of the Sab- batical year) for a poultice; Succ. 40b; B. Kam. 102a. Tosef. Dem. I, 25 מ׳ לעשות קמח four to make poultices; a. fr. - Trnsf. a soothing remmedy. Sabb. 119b מ׳.. חמין hot water after the exit of the Sabbath is soothing. Deut. R. s. 8 למכה מ׳ the Law is an emollient for every wound; Midr. Till. to Ps. XIX מ׳ללב soothing for the heart; Yalk. Ps. 675; Lev. R. s. 12 מוליגא, מוליגי׳ (corr. acc.)
מלוגנאה m. of AM 'loga (supposed to be a Baby- lonian place), מ׳ קבא name of a particular Kab measure. Pes. 48a מ׳ קבא (Ar. a. Ms. M. 2 מגלונאה of Magla, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 100). Ibb מלוגנאי קבא (Ms. M. 2 a. oth. אה . . .).
מלוה m. creditor, v. לוה.
מלוה f. (לוה) loan, debt. Keth. IX, 2 או פקדון לו דהיה וכ׳ מ׳ and left a trust or a loan in the hands of strangers. Ib. 84a ניתנה להוצאה מ׳ a loan is made to be spent (opp. to trust). Kidd. 6b, a. e. וכ׳ במ׳ המקדש if one betroths a woman to himself by remitting her indebtedness to him, she is not betrothed (there being no consideration offered to her at the time); מ׳ בהנאת offering as a consideration the benefit of the loan (by extension). Ib. 47b, a. fr. על מ׳ פה a verbal loan, בשטר מ׳ against a note.
