מקרואלפרוס m. (~~~~~-~~~~~, a made-up word) Macro-elaphros(Tall- Lightfoot). Geen. R. s. 65.. שם והיתה לפרוס מקרוא . (corr. acc.) and a woman was there who had a son that was a dwarf, but whom she called M. and said, מ׳ בני my son is tall and lightfooted (fit for the body guard); Cant. R. to II, 15 ליפארוס מיקרו (corr. acc.); Yalk. Jer. 332 מקרולפוס, מקרולפס (corr. acc.).
מקרובותא f. (קרב) coming near, touching. Yalk. Gen. 26 וכ׳ במקרובותיה דמכת דלא כמה as thou didst not die on touching it &c.; Gen. R. s. 19 מיתת דלא כמה במקרביה.

מקרוס m. (~~~~~) tall. Yalk. Gen. 114 בעיניך אם וכ׳ בעינינו מ׳ though in thy sight he is tall, in ours he is a. dwarf; (Gen. R. s. 65, a. e. לפרוס מקרוא &c., v. מקרואלפרוס). מקרי mm. (קרי 1Af), ממדרדקי, ינוקי מ׳ prinmary teacher. B. Batb. 21b וכ׳ דלא ד׳ במ׳ that a teacher cannot prevent a colleague from opening a school in the same avenue. Ib,a וכ׳ ד׳ מ׳ סך the highest number of pupils for a. primary teacher is twenty-five; a. fr. - Pl. מקרי. Ib. וכ׳ ד׳ מ׳ תרי הני where there are ttwo teachers one of whom &c., v. גרס II.
מקרילות f. pl. (a jocular denom. of מקרא, to rhyme with מקבילות) based on textual interpretation. Y. B. Kam. VIII, end, 6, v. מקבילות.
*מקרין I pr. n. m. Macrin, (supposed to mean) Ma- crianus, one of the thirty tyyrants, who after the capture by tthe Persians of Valerian, was declared Roman emperor together with his sons Macrianus and Guietus. Gen. R. s. 76 (ref. to three of the older horns', Dan. VII, 8) שנתנו זו וקרדידוסי וקרוס מ׳ מלכותם להם (some ed. מקדין) those (Romans) who gave them (the princes of Palmyra,) their royal titles (v. נצר IV); M. &c.; Yalk. Dan. 1064 מוקירום וקירקוס וקירוס (omitting מלכותם. . ) (some ed. וקרירום;p Ftirst Gloss. Graeco-debr. p. 14c quotes; וקירידיס). [The other two names, obviously corrupted, refer perhaps to the two sons of Macrianus. V. Fiirst l. c. for other con- jectures.]
מקרין II m. (b. h. מקרן; denom. ofקרן) having horns. Hull. 60a; Sabb. 28b; Ab. Zar. 8a מפריס מ׳. . שהקריב שור the ox which Adam offered had one horn in his forehead, for it is written (Ps. LXIX, 32) &c.; משמע תרין מ׳ but does not makrin mean 'having two horns (as מפריס ׳having hoors') כתיב מקרן it is written without Pod (intimating a defect).

מקרקע, מקרקעא m., mostly pl. מקרקעי (v. קרקע) atttached to the ground, real estate, opp. מטלטלא. Yeb. 99a, a. e. דמי כמ׳ עבדא a slave is legally considered as real estate; B. Bath. 150a כמקרקעא (Ms. M. pl.). Ib. מ׳ שואני וכ׳ דניד there is a difference between movable real estate (a slave) and an imimovable estate; ib. 68a, Ih, 15)bכתובה רבנן תקינו דממ׳ Ms. M. מקשה f. (b. h.; =מקשאה, denom. of קשא, v. קשואים) cucumber feld, in gen. truck-farmm. Tosef. Ter. I, 4; Y. ib. I, 40b bot. Tosef. B. Mets. IX, 32; a. e. (v. also מוקשה). - Pl. מקשאות, מקשיות, מקשאין. Shebi. II, 1 במ׳ ליטע (Ms. M. מקשות, corr. acc.; Maim. מקשיות), v. מדלעת. -- In gen. ומדלעות מ׳ late vegetables or fruits. Pes. 6b. Erub. 104a ומדלעיו מקשאיו ed. Sonc. מקשה m. h.=ch. מקשאה, disputant, undecided. Hor. 14a ומ׳ חריף quick but undecided, opp. to ומסיק מתון slow but coming to a conclusion.
