נבג, נבוג, נביג (cmp. דוג s. v. באגא) to break forth, come to the surface. Succ. 53b מיא ונבגי . כרינן Ar. (ed. ונפקי, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 80; Tosaf. to Bekh. 44b ונבעי) we dig a little, and water bubbles forth. Snh. 82a קברה נבוג והדר he buried the skull, but it came up again ib. 104a נבג והדר (Mss. F. a. K.); Yalk. נבגא) m. (preced.) shoot, twig. Pes. 74a שתא בר ׳ (Ms. M. ניב׳) a twig (of the pomegranate tree) of this year's growth.
נבגא m. (preced.; cmp. b. h. בקבוק) a vessel, nabga, a certain measure, v. אנג. Ber. 51b וכ׳ ׳ האי כל the whole nagba is of the wine over which the blessing has been pronounced.

*נבוז m. (בזז) distributor(of royal largesses),chief. Cant. R. to VII, 7 (ref. to נבזביתך, Dan. V, 17) ראשה ׳ nabo means chief (officer); b. [read;] בזתא נבו . . . הינון תמן (ed. נבוזבזתאך, some ed. בזאתך נבו) there (in Rome) they namme an eparch (a high officer) distributor of largesses (Comes Largitionum).
