*נדידיא m. pl. (נדד) fugitives. Y. Sabb. IV, 7a ג׳ הרי דאשקלון (ed. Krot. נדיר׳) is there not against thee the case of the fugitives of Ashkelon? (Koh. R. to I, 15 והלא וכ׳ שקעוה אשקלון יורדי; -he case cited is unknown).
נדיין m. (נדה) nadyan, a species of edible locusts, v. נדונא. Sifra Sh'mini, Par. 3, ch. V, expl. חגב (Lev. XI, 22); Hull. 65a גדיאן, read נדיאן.
נדיין, ני m. (v. נדי II) wash-pond. B. Bath. 19a הנד׳ (Ms. M. הנידד׳, Ms. H. המנדיאן, ed. Pes. הנידאן, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 5), contrad. to מחמצן.

נדל m. (v. Syr. נדנדא, דנדלא, P. Sm. 2290, 925) polyp, centipede. Sifra Sh'mini, Par. 10, ch. XII, expl. מרבה רגלים (Lev. XI, 42); Hull. 67b. --- Mikv. V, 3 שהוא מעין ככ׳ משוך a well the waters of which are conducted in channels radiating like the feet of a centipede. Erub. 8b, v. מבוי.
נדל ch. same. Targ. Y. Lev. XI, 42. - Y. Sabb. I, 3b bot. נ אתעביד . בר the skeleton of a fish changes into a centipede.
נדן (Assyr. nadanu, v. Fried. Del. Prolegt p. 139; v. נדוניא) to give to place; (neut. verb) to be givemn. Y. Snh. X, 29b bot. (ref. to ידון לא, Gen. VI, 3) רוחי נותן שאיני . . ידון לא וכ׳ my spirit shall not be given to him, (which means) I shall not put my spirit into them &c. (at the time of the resurrection); Bab, ib. 108a; Gen. R. s. 26; v. next w.
נדן) m. (b. h.; preced.) [place where a thing is put,] sheath, case. Snh. 108a (ref. to ידון, v. preced.) חוזרת . . שלא לנדנה their souls shall not return to their cases (bodies); Y. ib. X, 29b bot.; Gen. R. s. 26. -- Pl. נדנים. Ib. . . . מחזיר איני לנדניהן I shall not return their spirits to their cases.
נדנא ch. same. Targ. Ez. XXI, 35 (ed. Lag. לדנ׳), v. לדנא.
נדנד (Pilp. of דד;) 1) to make restless, shake, weaken. Lev. R. s. 18 (ref.to נד, Is. XVII, 11) וכ׳ קצירן עליכם נדנדתם (or קצירין; Ar. נדדתם, fr. נדד) (through your willing ac- ceptance of the Law) you had made powerless over you the harvest (harvests, destructive forces) of the govern- ments &c.; Yalk. Is. 287 עלי נדית (corr. acc.). - 2) (neut. verb) to be rocked. Gen. R. s. 53 וכ׳ עריסה נדנדה לא never was a cradle rocked before it was rocked in the house of Abraham, i. e. never before was there such a festival at the weaning of a child. Nithpa. נתנדנד to be moved, stirred up. Ex. R. s. 20, end הארון ׳ Joseph's cotfn (sunk in the Nile) was stirred up (and came to the surface; Tanh. Ekeb 6 נזדעזע; Tanh. B'shall. 2, a. e. צף). Cant. R. to VI, 10 (play on כנדגלות, ib.] לגלותו שנתעסנד כדור like the generation (of Hezekiah) that was stirred up for its exile; ib. ולא לגלות שנ׳ כדור גילה (read; יגלה ולא . . . שיתנדנד) ike the generatiion (of the Messiah) which shall be moved about as if to go into exile,but shall not go. Ib. וכ׳ ממסע מתנדנדים moving from journey to journey; a. e.
גדנוד, ני׳ m. (preced.) moving about, exile. Gen. R. s. 39 (expl. גדד, Ps. LV, 9) וכ׳ טלטול ׳ u'dod means mooving about, exile after exile. - 2) (sub. ראש) headt-shaking; כ׳ עבירה an act at which people shake their heads as being wrong. Tosef. Yeb. IV, 8; Pes. 50b (Ar. לעברה ני׳).

נדף (b. h.; cmp. הרף) [to drive, scatter,] (neut. verb) to spread (of odors). Gen. R. s. 39, beg. נודף ריחו היה its perfume went forth. Ber. 51a נודף . . נודף וריחו שום שאכל מי יותר Ms. M., shall he who has eaten garlic so that his breath smells, eat again, that his breath may smell still more?, i. e. having done one wrong, shall one do another wrong?; a. fr.
נדה ch. same; part. נדיף. Targ. Cant. IV, 10. Targ. Y. Ex. XL, 5 (ed. Vien. נדיף). *ltthpe. איגדים it blomws. Ab. Zar. 55a ולא בעלמא מנדים כי מיטרא אתי Ms. M., when a wind blows in the world and no rain comes, (v. גזף).
נדר (b. h.; cmp. נדה) [to keep of,] to vow (abstinence). Ned. V, 1 מזה זה שנדרו who vowed not to receive bene-- fits from one another. Ib. III, 6 הים מיורדי הנודר he who vows to forbid himself benefits from seafarers. Ib. VI, 1 המבושל מן הנודר who vows to abstain from whatever is cooked. Ib, 77b וכ׳ אע״פ הנודר כל whoever vows, even if he fulflls his vow, is called a sinner. Ib. I, 1 . בנזיר כ׳ ובקרבן his is a valid vow implying nazariteship and sacrifice. Naz. IV, 4 בנזיר שנדרה who vowed to be a. Nazarite; a. fr. -Imperative; דור. Snh. III, 2 בחיי לי דוי ראשך vow (swear) to me by anything concerning thy person (and I will accept it as a legal oath). Kidd. 41a ממנו הנאה דור renounce all benefit from him. -- Ned. III, 4 וכ׳ להרגין נודרין (Tosef. ib. II, 2 תולין) you are not bound by a vow made to escape robbery by highway-men &c. Arakh. I, 1, a. e. נודרים may vow to dedicate the value of a certain person to the sanctuary, contrad. to ערך q. v. -- Part. pass. נדוו being under the obligation of a vow; being the legitimate sulyect of a vomw. Shebu. 20a היום מאותו ובא שנ׳ והוא provided he was bound by a. vow to fast on that day; Ned. 12a היום באותו שנ׳ והוא (v. Rashi a. l.). Ib. ואילך היום מאותו ובא שנ׳ that he has vowed to fast regularly on that day (every week). Ib. 13a הנ׳ דבר a thing which can be made forbidden by a vow (not otherwise forbidden by law). Ib. 46a תני וכ׳ הנאה ונ׳ interpret מודר as meaning, and he through his own vow is forbidden any benefit &c. Nag. 9b ונזיר נ׳ he is under the infuence of a vow (of abstention from dried figs) and is also a Nazarite; a. e. Nif, נידר 1) to be made the sulyectt of a vow; to have one's personal value dedicated to the sanctuary. Arakh. , 1 ונידרים נודרים are entitled to dedicate (v. supra) and to be. dedicated.
