Ib. 97a היזיקה מינכר its reduction in value is distinguishable. Pa. נער to make strange, remove. Sabb. 82b (ref. to תזרם, Is. XXX, 22) עזר מינך נכרינהו (v. Rabb. D. S. a... note) remove them from thee like a strange (disgusting) thing.
נכרי m. (b. h.; preced. wds.) stranger, gentile. [In editions published under the censor s supervision, our w. is frequently changed into עכולים, גוי, עושי, כותי &c.] Ab. Zar. IV, 4(51b; 52b; Mish. ed. עכום). Sabb. 31a; a. v. fr. - Pl. נכרים. Hull..13b וכ׳ ע עובדו לארילאו שבחוצה נ׳entiles outside of Palestine are not to be considered as idolaters, they only continue their fathers customs. Gitt. 61a מפרנסין וע׳ ׳ עניי we must support the poor of the gentiles &c.; (Tosef. ib. V (II), 4 גוים). Gitt. V, 9(61a) וכ׳ ׳ מתי מספידין (Mish. ed. עכו״׳ם) we must lament for the dead of the gentiles &c.; a. v. fr. - Fem. נכרית. Yeb. 17a. Ib. ננכש (cmp. כשכש, קשקש) to come in near contact. Pi. ניעש (denom. of מכוש I) to weed; to lop. Kil. II, 5 לנכש אותו מחייבין אין the law does not bind him to pluck out (the plants which grow among the fenugrec). Ib. נכש ואם (Y. ed, ני׳) but if he did &c. Tosef. ib. I, 15 והמנכש and he who does the weeding (in a field of mixed seeds); M. Kat. 2b; a. fr. [B. Bath. 54a Ms. R., v. מכוש I.] Hif. הכיש 1) to strike, wound, sting. B. Mets. 30b; B. Bath. 88a הכישה iff he struck the lost beast which he took in charge. Gen. R. s. 30, beg. וכ׳ ארי הכישו a lion struck and crippled him. B. Mets. 78a נחש הכישה a serpent bit her. -- 2) to cause inyury by contact. B. Kam. 23b מילש (Ms. H, משין) he who caused a neighbors death by bringing the serpent's tooth in contact with his neighborr's body; Snh. 78a. Yalk. Deut. 944 ששמכישין, v. קונטרינים; Sifre Deut. 37 שמכינים (corr. acc.). --3) (denom. of מעוש I) to insert the hoe or spade. B. Bath. 54a, v. מוש I. Hithpa. התנכש, Nif. נכוש to be hoed for. Gen. R. s. 5 וכ׳ נזרעין ולא מתנכשין לא . . הקוצים for thorns there is neither hoeing (digging over) nor sowing, but they grow of themselves, while wheat &c.; Yalk. ib. 79 נכושין לא וכ׳ נחרשים ולא neither digging, norr ploughing, nor sow- ing &c.
נכש ch. same; Pa. נכיש to bite. Gen. R. s. 91 . כן וכ׳ ואכלה . . . מגפפשא so may this woman (I) take a bite of the fesh of this and eat; (Yalk. Gen. 148 only אכלה); v. נכת. Af. אנכיש to weed. B. Mets. 105a וכ׳ מנכישנא I shall weed as much as is required for thy share.

נכת, נכית (cmp. כתת; v. נכש) to wound, bite, inure. Targ. Num. XXI, 9. Ib. 6 (ed. Berl. נכיתו Pa.); a. fr. -- Gen. R. s. 98 וכ׳ למיכת דבעי חיויא the serpent that is to bite my son. Y. Peah I, 16a bot. [read;] . . דאתאמר אילולי נכית הוינא לא נכות had I not been told from on high, ׳bite, I should not bite. Koh. R. to VII, 1 דנכתיה מאן וכ׳, v. דחיל. Gitt. 67b (expl. קורדייקוס) וכ׳ חמרא דנכתיה young wine from the press has bitten him (made him delirious). B. Mets. 60b וכ׳ ליה נכית דקא איכא נשך it is meshekh (usury, v. נשך), for he bites (injures) him, by taking from him something which he (the creditor) had not given him; a. fr. Pa. נכית 1) same. Targ. O. Num. XXI, 6, v. supra. -- Ab. Zar. 35b וכ׳ ואכיל מנכית הוה took a bite and ate of the bread (of a non-Iew) &c. - 2) to cause to bite. Yeb. 76a וכ׳ ליה ומנכתינן .. מייתינן we get a big ant and let it bite (insert its head into the opening) and cut its head off. thpe. איתנכית, איננכית to be bitten, stung. Targ. O. Num. XXI, 8. Targ.
