פטרובולי m. pl. (~~~~~ooho) chiefsenators, a title gi ven to local magistrates (variously corrupted). Y. Peah I, 15c top היה פמרכולי ראשש . . דמה Dama . . . was the chief of the patrobuloi; Y. Kidd. I, 6 1b top בולי פר (corr. acc.); Pesik. R. s. 23-- 24 סטרכולי. Pesik. bIl'kah., p. 182b אותו וקילסו פטרופולי יצאו (Ar. פרטילי), the magistrates came out and praised him; Yalk. פטרוזא m. (Palez ofפטר) a prematurely born animal, a puny lamb. Bekh. 11a דנקא בר פ׳ אפי׳ even a puny lamb worth no more than a Danka. Zeb. 48a דנקא בר פ׳ Ar. (ed. ד׳ בת חטאת, ד׳ בר אשם).

פטרון m. (~~~~u = patronus) patron, protector. Y. Ber. IX, 13a bot. וכ׳ פטרונו של פתחחו על לו ועמד בא he comes and stands at the gate of his patron and calls for his slavo &c. Ib.b top וכ׳ שולט פ׳ לו יש בווד (not בווד מלך) a human being has a patron who may have power in one province &c.; Y. Ab. Zar. III, 42a bot. פטרין (corr. acc.). Tanh. פטרילד m. (~~~~~~, patrics, -a, -um) something r hereditary, heirloom, patrimony. Y'lamd. to Num. XXI, 1, quot. in Ar. וכ׳ פטמריקא מאבותיהן להן שיש אנו יודעין we know that they (lsrael) have a legacy from their ancestors who said to them, 'the voice is Jacob's voice (i. e. prayer); l, too, rely on my patrimony, as it is said (Gen. XXVII, 40), by thy sword thou shalt ive; Yalk. Num. 764. Gen. R. s. 49 וכ׳ שלו מפ׳ אילו if I asked (permission to cut some trees down) on his patrimony, he would not refuse me.
