פיסק m. (פסק) 1) interruption. - Pl. פיסקין. Y. Shek. III, 47b bot. בפ׳ לשתותן to drink them (the four cups) at intervals, v. פסק. - 2) sllope or embankmmentt by the roade side. - Pl. as ab. Tosef. Erub. X (VII), 2 וכ׳ והפ׳ ההרים ed. Zuck. (oth. ed. והפסקן החרים; El. Wil. emends פסקנין) hills, slopes, or a ship by the side of a public road (v. Tosef. Sabb. X (XI), ).

פיסקתא f. (פסק) a small share, portion. B. Bath. 151a דפרדיסא פ׳ (Ms. F. פסיקתא) a small portion of an orchard.
פיסתא, פיסתה, פס׳ f. =פסא, 1) ידא פיסת the hand up to the wwrist; רגלא כף פ׳ the foott up to the ankle. Targ. IKings XVIII, 44; a. e. - Yeb. 115a וכ׳ דידא פ׳ (see) the hand that lies here (of the remains of the burned hus- band); a. e. -- Pl. פיסתא, constr. פישת, פפת. Targ. I Sam. V, 4. Targ. Esth. VIII, 10. -- 2) piece, esp. bread (v. פיתא). Y. Ber. VI, 10b bot. פסא דהדין . . פיסתי אכל דאנא בגין וכ׳ when I eat my bread and, not knowing how to say grace, I say, blessed be he who has created this piece &c. (Bab.iib. 40b פיתא דהאי מדיה). Y. Sabb. פיסתקא, פס׳ m. (v. פיסטקין) pistachio-nut. Gitt. 59a דפ׳ ופלגיה כפ׳ (not ופלגי) compressed to the size respect- ively of a pistachio-nut and half a pistachio-nut (Rashi; acorn). פיף m. (apocop. reduplic. of פה; cmp. פיפיות) fringe, knotted to the border. Kil. IX, 9 וכ׳ צמר של ׳ (Mish. ed.. פיו, corr. acc.; v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 10) it is forbidden to attach woolen and linen fringes (to a garment), because they may be mixed up with the web; Y. ib. 32a. --Trnsf. knots surrounding the anus. Tosef. Mikv. פיפור m. (= פרפור; פרר; cmp. אפיפיירות) trellis. Y. Kil. פיפיורא m. (preced. wds.; cmp. פוריא) royal litter. Ab. Zar. 11a [read] אפיפיורא פ׳ קמי נורא נקיט ניפרא ומ׳ דוכסא לדוכסא the torchbearer carries the light in front of the litter, the chief lecticarius (behind the litter, carries the light) for the dux, the dux for the hegemon, the hegemmon for the comes; does the comes carry the light before the people (that follow the procession)--- [V.
