פירוש, פר׳ m. (פרש) distinct expression, directness; explanation; commentary. B. Bath. 52a יעשה . . וכולן לפירושן פ׳ יעשה לאו ואם כפירושן and as to all of them (a woman, a slave, or a minor), if they declared before dying, 'these things belong to --, he (the trustee) may do according to their explicit declaration, or else (having reasons to distrust their statements) he must miake a commentary to their statement (explain the motive they may have had for telling a falsehood). Ib. עשה אי וכ׳ כפירושה if you believe her to be trustworthy, do according to her explicit statement, if not, make a com- mentary &c. (find out the real state of afairs). Y. Gitt. V, end, 47a; Y. פירטא m., פירטתא, פר׳ f. (פרט) detailed state- ment, inventory. Gitt. 57b וכ׳ בביתיה פירטא שדא Ar. (ed. פרטתא שטר שדר, Rashi פיר׳) he sent a document con- taining the inventory and disposal of his property to his house, and became a proselyte; v. פיטרא II; Snh. 96b לביתיה פורטיתא שדר.
פירטא, פירטיס m. (~~~~~~, pirata) pirate. -Pl. פירטין. Ex. R. s. 17, end פ׳ של ספינות (not טון .. .) pirate ships. Lev. R. s. 25 beg. [read;] הפ׳ מפני ובים. . אני מתיירא I am afraid of robbers on the high-way, and on sea of the pirates; Yalk. ib. 61 5 אפרטין מפני וביום (corr. acra)..

פירכא, פר׳m. (פרך I) refutation, objection. Gitt. 83a ׳ ליה דלית . . פ׳ להו אית כולהו to all of them objections may be raised, except the opinion of R. E. which is un- objectionable. פירכוס IIפר׳m. (פרכס II)jerking motion, struggling spasmodic movement, as a symptom of vitality. Ib. שחיטה בתחלת שאמרו פ׳ the symp- toms of vitality of which they speak refer to the beginning of the slaughtering act. Ab.
