פרס I, פרש (b. h.) 1) to split, break, esp. (v. בצע) to break bread and say grace. R. Hash. 29b אדם יפרוס לא וכ׳ פרוסה a person should not break bread and say grace for his guests, unless he dines with them הוא פורס אבל וכ׳ לבניו but he may do so for his children and his house- hold in order to train them in religious practice.
