צלחתא, ציל׳ f. (preced. art.) [part, cmp. Lat. hemi- cranium,] pain on one side of the head, megrim. Sabb. 90a (ref. to עטרן) לצ׳ it is good for megrim. Gitt. 68b לצלח׳ Ar. (Rashi לציל׳; ed. לצליחתא).
צלי, צלה (b. h.) [to turn, cmp. טוי II,] to roast. Tosef. Pes. V, 9 צלאו . . בישלו if he cooked (the Passover lamb) and then roasted it; Pes. 41a. Ib. צורכו כל צלאו if he roasted it as much as needed (well-done, contrad. to כא). Ib. VII, 1 וכ׳ צולין כיצד how must the Passover lamb be roasted? Ib. 2 וכ׳ לנו וצלה צא go out and roast the lamb for us &c. Y. ib. VII, beg. 34a וכ׳ בגדי צלייו if he roasted it together with a secular (not sacrificial) kid. צלי m. (b. h.; צלה) roasted meat, roast. Zeb. V, 8. Pes. 75a אש צלי זה אין this is not called 'roasted by fire' (EEx. XII, 9); Y. ib. VII, 34a bot. וכ׳ שפוד צ׳ ולא אש צ׳ (the text says.) roasted by fire', but not roasted through the heat of the spit, of the pot &c.; a. fr. - Meg. 7b צ׳ . . . ובישולא קדר and the last dish they offered me, they called 'roast of the pot.'
