קטפורס, קטפרס f. pl. (~~~~~p~, acc.pl.) down- ward strokes, in gen. blows, lashes. Pesik. B'shall. p. 81b וכ׳ לוקה אתה ק׳ עשר thou art doomed to receive ten strokes, --they are the ten Egyptian plagues --, and to pay a fine &c.; Yalk. Ex. 225. Lev. R. s. 18 ׳כו ׳ק ןתונ ויוב a. human authority decrees lashes, so does the Lord; Num. R. s. 7 סריפטק ול שי (read; ׳ופטק ןתונ). Ex. R. s. 30 [read;] ׳ק הקול (not ׳ק ׳ה חקל) receives a certain number of strokes; a. e. Ib. סורופטק (corr. acc.).

קטפריס, טפרסp m. (~~~~~~~~) sloping down- ward; gutter (s h.ןורדמ). Ohol. III, 3 סירפטק ומוקמ היה םא ed. Dehr. (ed. סר . . .) if the place whereon he stood was sloping. Ib. ׳ק איהו Mish. ed. (Bab. ed. ׳קהו, corr. acc.) and it (the sill) is sloping. Toh. VIII, 8; sq. Gitt. 78b כק׳ . . . ידה היתה if she held her hand (to receive the letter of divorce) like a gutter (sloping downward). Y. Erub. VIII, end, 25b םינפבמ ׳ק תווה דכ (not סרפיטק רב היה) when the trough slopes inward; a. e. -- Pl. תוסירפטק. Y. Shek. גטפרקטוס m. (~~~~~~~~~~~, v. Sm. Ant. s. v. Cata- phracti) mtailed in full armor (on horseback). Cant. R. to I, 9 ק׳ פרעה יצא (not קטפרטקיס) Pharaoh went forth in full armor, so, as it were, did the Lord (Is. XLII, 13).

קטר I (b. h.; cmp. כתר a. עטר) [to circle,] to rise in circles, to smoke. Ker. 6b ׳כו וחירו הלועו רטוקש רבד (not רטיקש) omething which circles and rises, and whose savor spreads. Ib. הלועו רטוקש רבד תרטק ןושל המ k'oreth means something which circles &c. Pi. רטיק to offer incense (mostly with ref. to idolatrous rites). Tosef. Snh. X, 2 וכ׳ המקטר ואחד . . . העובד אחד whether one worships (an idol), or sacrifices, or offers incense &c.; Ker. 3b. Ib. וכ׳ לשד מקטר who makes incense rise to a demon in order to exorcise him; Snh. 65a. Ber. 53a, v. ףששכ. Lev. R. s. , v. infra; a. fr. -- Part. pass. רטוקמ; f תרטוקמperfumed. Pirke d'R. El. ch. I, 11) וכ׳ מקטירין כאילו . . . אלו this refers to the students engaged in the Law; wherever it be, I account it to them as if they were offering incense and bringing sacrifices tto my Name. Lev. R. s. 7 (ref. to קטרת מקטר, Ex. XXX, 1) אלא כאן כתיב אין בקטרת מתקטר ׳כו ריטקמ היה חבזמה . . . רשקמ it says not being per- fumed with incense', but perfuming with incense', the altar gave forth incense of itself.
