קמט ch. same, to seize, hold fast; to tie. Targ. Prov. IV, 4 (ed. Wil. טמקי Pa.; h. text ךמת). Ib. V, 22 (h.. text דכל). --- Sabb. 110a היל טימק, v. infra. -- Part. pass. טימק bound, constipated. Yeb. 64b אמד ׳קד . אכיא there are families in which the blood is tied up (whose members bleed little when wounded), opp. אמד יפרד who bleed profusely. קמט m. (preced. wds.) fold, crease, wrinkle, crumple. Neg. VII, 1 הלגנו ׳קב when the white spot was covered up by a wrinkle, and then became visible; Tosef. ib. II, 13 טשפנש ׳קהו. Nidd. V, 8 ׳כו ׳קה הלעישמ when wrinkles are formed under the breast; expl. ib. 47a ריזחתש ידכ ׳כו ׳קה הידי when she turns her arm backkwards, and it has the appearance as if there were wrinkles; a. e. - Pl. םיטמק, ןיטטק. קמין m. (~~~~) furnace, kiln. Tosef. Sot. XV, 7 ׳קב והוליטהו they threw him into a furnace; Y. ib. IX, 24b top ׳קל וריזחהו (read; וליטהו). -- Esp.the farnace room of the bath-house. Lev. R. s. 14 ׳כו ׳קב םדא ןיתמה םא Ar. (ed. ןימחב . . אהשי םא) if a person stays in the furnace room any length of time; Tanb. ed. Bub. Thazri a 4 ןיתכ ןוומקב (corr. acc.; Tanh. ib. 3 ןימחב). Tosef. Mikv. V, 7 ׳כו אמט ׳ק ןחרמב תמה if a corpse lies in the bath-house, the furnace room is unclean &c. Y. Sabb.
