קצב (b. h.) to cut, decide, determine, limit, bound. Y. Maasr. IV, 51b top וכ׳ להיסב ק׳ if he had determined to recline for a meal, but did not do so. [Y. Hag. II, 78a bot. בצוקו גגוח, read; רצוקו.]- Part. pass. בוצק; f הבוצק; pl. םיבוצק, ןיבוצק; תובוצק. Tosef.Ter. I, 10 הרותה ןמ ׳קה רבד a thing (duty) the scope of which is clearly defined in the Torah, v. קצבה. Gitt. 50b ק׳ שאין לפי because they (the alimonies of a widow and of orphaned daughters) are not definite (vary according to social position). קצבה, קי׳f. (קצב) decision, definition, limit; definite scope. Gitt. 52a ק׳ לו שיש דבר a thing (religious duty) for which there is a definite time and limit v. בצק. Pes. VI, 5 ׳כו ׳ק ןהל שיש . . תרמא םא you cannot draw an analogy between congregational offerings (on the Sabbath), which are definite, and the Passover sacrifice, which is indefin- ite; Y. ib. 33a. Ib. 33c bot. [read;] ןיאש רבד ךל תיא יאמ ק׳ לו what do you mean by saying, a thing which is un- defined ? ׳כו ק הרותה הנתנ אלש the Law does not define how many Passover sacrifces supersede the Sabbath each year (whereas the number of the daily sacrifices is definite). קצוע m., pl. קצועות (קצע) those who cut down trees for war purposes, sappers. Y. Ned. III, 38a המלך ק׳ ראה וכ׳ (not קצי׳) if he saw the king's sappers come (to raze plantations).
קצופה f. (קצף) visitation by divine anger, death; ק׳ בית house of mourning. Cant. R. to VIII, 5 (ref. to הקצפתם, Deut. IX, 8) ק׳ בית אבלה לבית . . . עשיתם you caused the Lord, as it were, to be a mourner for you; there are places where they call the house of mourning beth ktsufah (v. P. Sm. 3706 s. v. ףצק). - V. אפצק.
קצוצא m. (קצץן; cmp. גווזא II) castrate, eunuch. - Pl.יתוצק. Ber. 16b bot, יברד היוליע ק ימייקד גועאו although eunuchs (constables) were at Rabbi's disposal.
קצוצה f, pl. קצוצות (קצץ; v. Ex. XXXIX, 3) 1) cut metal, strip, wire. Kel. XI, 3 (ed. Dehr. תצוצק); Tosef. ib. B. Mets. I, 1. - 2) cutt fruits, v. הציצק.

קצוצתא f. (v. preced. wds.) 1) timber, cut board, plank. B. Kam. 67a וכ׳ ק׳ דמעיקרא Ms. R. (ed. קציצתא; Ms. H. קצצ׳) before (it was made a trough) it was called plank, and now tsinnora. -- Pl. קצוצייתה, קצוצייתא. Ib. 96a stolen beams קצ׳ עבדינהו (Ms. R. קצוצתא; Ms. H. אתייצצק) which he cut into planks. - 2) (comp. ארושכ) slice. -- Pl. אתוצוצק. Gen. R. s. 79 ידשו . . . yצקמ הוה ׳כו היתועוצק (Rashi, היתציצק; Matt. K. היתעוצק) he cut a lupine and threw its slices about &c.; Yalk. ib. 133 והוה היתועוציק . . . ןרצק (corr. acc.)
