קרום m. (קרם) skin, membrane. Neg. I, 1, a. e. כק׳ ביצה the color of the membrane surrounding the egg Hull. III, 1, v. מוה. Ib. 43a ק׳ אינו . .. שעלה ק׳ a membrane formed in consequence of a wound in the gullet is no membrane (to make the gullet sound). Ib. 56a רך קרומו its membrane is tender; a. fr. -- Pl. קרומין. *קרומטסין m. (comp. of קרום a. טס) cover (or color) of gold foils, name of a jewel in tvthe high priests breas- plate (corresp. to b. h. תרשיש; ypbvoafo~, LXX Ex. XXVIII, 20; Targ. ימא כרום). Ex. R. s. 38, end.
קרומית f. (v. קרום); קנה של ק׳ (or sub. קנה של) the skin-like, scaly envelope of reed, haulm (used as knife, v. Low, Pd. p. 344). Tosef. Hull. I, 5; Hull. 15b, a. e. בכל וכ׳ בק׳ . . . you may cut ritually with any tool, . . . with plass or with a reed haulm. Ib. 7גb וכ׳ כק׳ לה עשו Ms. M, a. Ar. (ed. קרומין, v. Rabb. D. קרון f. (v. קרר) wagon, travelling coach. Ab. Zar. V, 4 וכ׳ בק׳ יינו המניח if a person left his wine in a coach . and walked on a short-cut (leaving the wine under the care of a gentile driver) &c.; Y. ib. 44d bot. וכ׳ שהפליגה . . . בק׳ מעשה it happened with a coach of the house of Rabbi that its passenger left it unwatched for more than four miles. קרונה f., pl. קרונות (preced.) open place for wagons on market days, station; market day. Meg. 5b דחן רבי וכ׳ של בקרונה Rabbi bathed in the bathhouse of the station of Sepphoris on the 17b of Tammuz. Keth. 15a וכ׳ בק׳ נבעלת if a woman had intercourse with an un- known man in the market; ק׳ בשעת . . . אלא ס'ד בק׳ you cannot mean on the wagons in the market, but . . . at market time.
