*דונגר m. (a corrupt. of angaria or parangaria) public service. Yeb. 79a (ref. to IKings V, 29) בעלמא ר׳ ודילמא Ar. (ed. דוגזר) but perhaps it was merely for public service (that Israelites were employed, but not as slaves)? B. Bath. 122a (ref. to Ez. XLVIII, 19, to prove that the Nasi was to receive a share in the land equal to one of the tribal shares) בעלמא ר׳ אימא (Ms. M. דוזגר; ed. Pes. a. oth. אנגר, אונגר, v. Rabb. D. S. a. . note 8) may Inot say that the verse quoted refers merely to public service (due to the Nasi) - [The reading רוזגר, from which דוזגר, דוגור &c. arose, is due to a derivation, ascribed to R. Han., from tthhe Persian רוזגו servitium, v. Vullers 78b. -- Yalk. Sam. 154, however, has an entirely different reading of Yeb. . c.].

רונן m. (רנן) grumbler, inclined to suspicion or liti- gation. Pl. רוננים, רוננין. Tanh. P'kude 7הם ר ישראל the Israelites are grumblers (will suspect me of dishonesty). Sirre Deut. 12 (ref. to ריבכם, Deut. I, 12) ו׳ שהיו מלמד whiich shows that they loved litigation; Yalk. ib. 801 רוגנין (corr. acc.; v. Berliner to Rashi on Deut. l. c.). - eom. רוננית. Pesik. דונקי m. pl. (Chaldaism; רוק II, with anorg. ג; cmp. רוקן) the contents of a pot upturned and emptied on a flat vessel to cool of. Kel. II, 5 הר׳ את עליו הופכת שהיא מפני (Var. in R. S. הרומקי, read; הרוקמי, v. infra) because she (the cook) inverts the contents. of the pot on it (the lid); Tosef. ibb. B. Kam. II, 5 הרוקמי (cmp. ריקם).
*רונקין m. pl. (a corrupt. of ricinium or recinus) a rectangular piece of loth of smal sie (v. Sm. Ant. s. v.). Sirre B'midbar Sinai quot. in Ar. בציצית חייבין הר׳ אין the runkin are exempt from show-fringes (on account of their smallness).

Sot. 42b ומריעין מגיפין וכ׳ the gentile troops shut their cuirasses with . noise, blow their horns, shout and tramp; Yalk. Deut. 923; a. e. - Esp. to sound a תרועה, to blow tremmolo. Succ. V, 4 תקעו ותקעו והריעו they sounded the plain note (תקיעה), and the tremolo, and the plain note. R. Hash. IV, 9 ומריע תוקע וכ׳ he sounds a T'ki'a, a Tru 'ah &c. Ib. 16a sq. תוקעין למה וכ׳ ומריעין why do we blow the Shofar in plain notes and tremolo while seated and then again while stand- ing? Taan. 16b (at a public fast) אהרן בני הריעו . . . חזן הדיעו the superintendent of the prayer meeting says, sound the Tru ah, sons of Aaron; they do so. R. רופא m. (b. h.; רפא) physician, surgeon. Ber. 60a (in a prayer) וכ׳ נאמן ר׳ אל כי for thou. O God, art a faithful physician, and thy healing is perfect. Ib. (ref. to Ex. XXI, 19) וכ׳ לר׳ דשות . . . מכאן from this we learn that a physician is authorized to heal (that healing is not considered an interference with divine dispensation). Ab. Zar. 26b וכ׳ ישראל ר׳ בה שאין עיר a place which has no Jewish surgeon (for circumcision) but has a Samaritan and a gentle surgeon &c. Ib. 27a, a. e. מומחה ר׳, v. מומחה. Bekh. IV, 4828b) הר׳ תודוס Thodos (Theodorus) the physi- cian; a. fr. -- Pl. רופאים, רופאין. Tosef. Ohol. *דופיטון m. (מ~~~) (an egg) which can be gulped doawn, boiled down to the sise of a pill. Y. Ned. VI, 39c bot., exl. טרומיטא; [ogvos bbbu a lightly boiled egg, S. -- Our w. is prob. to be read טרופון (tקocbs) piercing, or טרופיטין (vpbrv~) borer; v. טרומיטא].
