תורגמינא, v. תורגמנא.
תורגמן, m. (תרגם) = פתורגמן, interpreter, speaker. Meg. 16a, v. מתורגמן. Macc. I, 9 הת׳ מפי . . . תהא שלא the Sanhedrin must not learn the evidence through an intere preter (hut must understand the witnesses own anguage). Ex. R. s. 3 (expl. לפה, Ex. IV, 16) לת׳ he shall be the spokes- man; a. e. -- Esp. a) the translator (into Chaldaic or Greek) of the Biblical portion read at services. Meg. 23b (Ms. M. *מת); a. fr. --- b) =אמורא, q. vv. Pes. 11 7 ת׳ עי משכיל a. psalm superscribed maskil is one pronounced by a speaker. M. Kat. 21a וכ׳ השמיע ות׳ לת׳ . . . הוא ולחש and he (being in mourning) whispered to R. H. b. קורה f. (b. h.; ירה) 1) teaching, law, esp. ה)ת׳) the taw of Moses, Pentateuch; in gen. the Jewish laaw, Pe- ligion. Ber. 5a (ref. to Ex. XXIV, 12) וכ׳ מקרא זה ת׳ torah means the Pentateuch, 'and the mitsvah means the Mishnah, which I have writtef' means the Phrophets and Hagiographa &c. Ib. וכ׳ בת׳ העוסק כל he that is engaged in the study of the Law &c., v. בדל. Ib. 6a דינא ח׳ היינו נמי holding court is also considered a religious act, opp. בעלמא שלמא mere preservation of peace. Ib. 31a וכ׳ מצוה והי ח׳ הי where is the Law, and where the good deeds, that they may save us Pes. 87b ללשון לשונם שקרוב ת׳ because their (the Babylonians') languuiage confes near the language of the Torah. *תוריב m. (רבה, cmp. רב) (festival of) fructification (Dionysia). Y. Ab. Zar. II, 41b (expl. תרבות, a reading for תרפות, Mish.iib.II,) וכ׳ מוליכין תוריבםמ their (the gentiles') festival of fructification, when they carry the larger idol to the smaller (v. Hastings Dict. Bible, s. v. Dionysia); ib. תוריבם תרבות דאמר מאן he that reads tarbuth understands the word to mean their festival &c. [Mus. emends תוריבוס, v. next w.]
תתוריבוס m. (~~~~o) uproar; (in the sense of vo- poooio~) a tarbulent person, rioter. Tanh. ed. Bub., Vayera 17 (ref. to שבלול, Ps. LVIII, 9, play on בלל) כמו נשטף עמו שנמצא מי כל במדינה שעומד ת׳ כדך. . . ששהשזבולת עמו (not תוריכוס, not מה) as a freshet sweeps all that it finds with it, so it is with a rioter who rises iin a city whoever is found with him, is swept away (arrested and punished) with him; ת׳ שהוא למה . . מת שהוא וכיון and when he is dead, he faces no more the sun (his body is not exhibited for public honors); why? .Because he was a rioter; Yalk. וריתא f. (=תואריתא, dimin. of תואר) the least form or aspect of. Men. 75 עלייהו דנהמא ח׳ דאיכא והוא (Ms. R. תואריתא; Ms. C. תוארייתא; v. Rabb. D. S. an l. note 400) provided they still have some semblance of bread (not altogether reduced to a pap); Ber. 37b.

XXII, 22, by ref. to Ber. 5b וכ׳ גוזל . . הנהנה כל). יאמר לא . נכנס שהוא הת׳ זה הה׳ תy ומניח . .. this refers to the lupine that is brought in with the dessert; one should not say, Ihave nuts and dates before me, I will say the blessing over them, and disregard the lupine; a. fr. - Pl. תוימוסין.
