תיאבון, תא׳ m. (תאב) desire, appetite; לת׳ to satisfy the appetite. Hull. 84a (ref. to Deut. XIV, 26, תאוה) למדה לת׳ אלא the Torah here teaches a sanitary rule, that man should not eat meat unless he has special appetite for it; Tosef. Arakh. IV, 26. Pes. 120a (in Chald. dict.) לת׳ דקאכיל when he eats with appetite (when he begins the meal); a. e. - Esp. תיאה, תתייה, תיה f. root of crowfoot (Ranunculus)s tsed as spice, but considered poisonous for beasts. T'bii] Yom I, 5 התיאה (ed. Dehr. התייה; Maim.] some say, tiah is the root of asafetida'). Ikts. תתיאטרון, תייטרון m. (variously perverted) (~~~- toos) theater, show, spectacle. Gen. R. s. 87 וכ׳ היה ת׳ יום (not חיאטי׳) it was spectacle day, and all went to see (the show), but he (Joseph) did not go; Cant. R. to I, 1,, beg. טיאטרון; Pesik. R. s. 6 וקורקסין ת׳ יום (not וקורקסיו) a day of theatre and circus performances. Cant. R. l. c. נילום של ט׳ יום the show day for the Nile festival, v. זיבו. Y. Ab. Zar. I 0a וכ׳ אסור לת׳ השולה to go to ttheatre is forbidden on account of idolatry (which is practiced in it); Tosef. ib. II, 5 בוים של לתרטיאות ed. Zuck. (Var. לתרטאיות, לסרטאיות, read; לתיאטראות pl.).
