כליסר, תליסרי strteen, v. חלת.
תלישה f. (תלש) tearing up, plucking; being detach- ed, loose. Y. Sabb. IX, 11d bot.; Y. Ab. Zar. III, 43b top וכ׳ ת׳ שעת לו היתה בית a building has had a time when its material was oose, a cave has never had such a time. Sabb. 73b בכך ת׳ דרך אין this is not the ordinary way of plucking (dates). Y. ib. VII, 10c top גיזתה היא תלישתה plucking it is in this case a form of shearing.

תליתאה, כליתאי, תליתיm. (תלת) 1) third. Targ. Gen. II, 14. Ib. I, 13 (ed. Vien. תאי . . .); a. fr. -- Lam. R. to I, 1 רבתי; וכ׳ ת׳ נסב he took the third bird, and placed it between his two daughters. Ib. ת׳ מילא הא this is the third tthing (I had to do); a. fr. -- Pl. תליתאי. -- ת׳ לישן, v. לישן. Targ. Y. Gen. I, 16; a. e. -- Pem. תליתא, תליתיתא. Targ. Ez. XXI, 19. Targ. IKings XVIII, 1 (ed. Sabb. 88a וכ׳ ת׳ לעם ת׳ אוריאן דיהב who gave the threefold Law (v. אויאן) to the threefold people (Priests, Levites, and Is- raelites) through a third-born (Moses) in the third month.
תליתיתי hirty, v. חלת.
תלם, Hif. התלים (denom. of תלם) to furrow, leave a ridge. Gen. R. s. 31 וכ׳ תלמיות מתלים והיה and it (the R'em) left furrows in the water as far as from Tiberias to Susitha; Yalk. Job 926 מסתלססל (corr. acc.).
תלם m. (b. h.) ridge, furrow. Macc. III, 9 (21b) וכ׳ אחד ת׳ חורש יש (Mish. ed. אחת, corr. acc.) one may plough only one furrow, and be guilty of eight sins (v. לאו); Pes. 47a. Gen. R. s. 6 [read;] חורש אינו הדיוט אאפי׳ ת׳ תבתוך חורשים ונביאים ת׳ בתוך ת׳ (v. Matt. K. a. l.) even a comtmon man will not plough a ridge within a. ridge, and will prophets plough &c. (i. e. mistrust their own previsions)?; Yalk. ib. 116 (corr. acc.); a. e. -- Pl. תלמים, תלמין. Kil. II, 6, a. e., v. פתיח. Yoma 10a תלמי ת׳ ת׳ . . . שמשים his name was Talmai (Num. II, s הרביעה כתלמי as deep as the furrows made after the rainy season; a. e.

תלמוד m. (למד) teaching, lesson; learning, study. Shebu. 40b וכ׳ בפיו הוא ערוך ת׳ it is a ready teaching in the mouth of R. J.; this opinion is Admon's. B. Mets. 33b; Ab. IV, 13 וכ׳ ת׳ ששגגת בת׳ זהיר הוי be careful in teaching, for an error in teaching &c., v. זדון. Meg. 27a Ms. M., v. לימוד. B. Bath. 130b ת׳ מפי לא הלכה למדין אאין וכ׳ Mss. (ed. למוד by censor's change, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note; Rashb. גמרא) we derive no rule of practice from a teacher's remark or from a practical case, unless it is said, this is the rule for practice; Nidd. 7b (ed. גמרא). Y. Gitt. VII, 48a top ת׳ צריך . . . גט זה הרי the letter of divorce is valid, but the thing requires (further) study. Y. Hor. III, 48b top וכ׳ מזה תלמודו חצי כשהיה when he owes part of his learning to one (his father), and part to the other (his teacher); a. fr. -- חורה ת׳, v. תויה. - Esp. a) lalomud (v. גמרא,) verbal communication, oral study, opp. to משנה. XIV, 21) . .. לגר ו'ל מנין במכירה לגר . . . לי אין מכור או from the text you learn only that you may give it to the sojourner and sell it to the stranger; how will you prove that you may sell it to the scjourner? Read the text, to the sojourner . . thou mayest give it away or sell it; לנכרי מכור או ואכלה תתננה תל מנין בנתינה לנכרי how will you prove that you may give it away to the gentile? Read the text, thou mayest give it away or sell it to the gentile. Ib. 24a (ref. to Ex. XXIX, 34) וכ׳ יאכל לא תל ומה יאכל לא ת'ל שאין it was not necessary to say, it shall not be eaten, and what is intimated by saying, it shall not be eaten'? If you cannot apply it to the law in the case, since it is said, 'and thou shalt. burn &c.', apply it to all forbidden things &c. (v. ענין); a. v. fr. - Pl. תלמודות (femm.). Cant.
