Bingham, John, s. Richard, of Bingham, Dorset, arm. Brasenose Coll., matric. 9 Dec., 1631, aged 18; of Melcomb Bingham, a student of the Middle Temple 1632, colonel of a regiment for the parliament, governor of Poole, and defender of Corfe Castle, which was subsequently razed to the ground, M.P. Shaftesbury Nov., 1645 (L.P.) till 1653, Dorset 1653-9, 'a Rumper,' died 1673, brother of Robert. See Foster's Parliamentary Dictionary.
