Layton, Richard (Leyton), B.C.L. 25 June, 1522, an advocate of Doctors' Commons 5 June, 1531, a visitor of the university of Oxford, rector of Stepney, Middlesex, 1522, canon of St. Paul's 1523, archdeacon of Buckingham 1534, rector of Sedgefield, co. Durham, 1536, rector of Harrow-on-the-Hill 1537, and of Eccleston, co. Lancaster, 1541, dean of York 1539; died in 1544.
