Martin, Gregory, an original scholar of St. John's Coll. 1557, from Macksfield, Sussex, B.A. 28 Nov., 1560, M.A. 3 July, 1564, tutor to Philip, after Earl of Surrey, retired to Douay, a public professor and divinity reader in the college at Rheims; died 28 Oct., 1582, buried in the church of St. Stephen, Rheims.
