Werden, Robert, s. John, of Chester (city), arm. Christ Church, matric. 30 June, 1637, aged 15; M.P. Chester (Feb.) 1673-8, and 1685-7, colonel of a troop of horse for the king, was declared a traitor by the parliamentary party and a price set on his head; he joined Charles II. in exile, but returned on the restoration, and died 23 Jan., 1690; father of Sir John 1683.
