William, of Chester; a commoner of Brasenose Coll. 1540, B.A. 1545; fellow of All Souls' Coll. 1545, M.A. 1547; a senior student of Christ Church, or rather fellow of Cardinal Coll. 1547, B. and D.D. sup. 17 Feb., 1566-7; dean of Durham 1563, one of the translators of the Geneva Bible; died 10 June, 1579, his will dated 18 April; father of Timothy.
