William, of Canfield, Essex, bart.; pensioner St. John's Coll., Cambridge, 10 Nov., 1654, aged 18, from Winchester college; migrated to Queen's Coll., Oxford, subscribed 23 Oct., 1657, B.A. next day, M.A. 25 June, 1659; fellow All Souls' Coll. 1661 (incorporated at Cambridge 1662), chaplain to Arthur, Earl of Essex, lord lieutenant of Ireland; dean of Raphoe 1676, and bishop of Dromore 1683, until his death in Sept., 1694.
