Burgoyne, Field-marshal Sir John Fox, G.C.B., created D.C.L. 20 June, 1855, constable of the Tower of London 1865, created a baronet 18 April, 1856, died 7 Oct., 1871, his only son, Hugh Talbot Burgoyne, V.C., perished with the 'ill-fated' Captain, which foundered off Cape Finisterre, with Captain Cole its designer, and nearly all the crew, 7 Oct., 1871.
