Cockerell, Charles Robert, member of the Royal Institute of France, professor of architecture in the Royal Academy (1840), created D.C.L. 20 June, 1844, surveyor to St. Paul's Cathedral 1819, architect to the Bank of England 1832, R.A. 1836, president of the Royal Institute of British architects (2nd son of Samuel Pepys Cockerell, surveyor to the East India Company), died 17 Sep., 1863, buried in St. Paul's Cathedral.
