Folkes, Martin, of Clare Hall, Cambridge, M.A. 'comitiis regis' 1717, incorp. 28 April, 1721, created D.C.L. 18 July, 1746, then president of the Royal Society (1741), numismatist and antiquary, F.R.S. 1713, F.S.A. (eldest son of Martin Folkes, bar.-at-law, Gray's Inn), died 28 May, 1754, aged 64.
