Gibbs, James, created M.A. 12 April, 1749, then architect of Dr. Radcliffe's Library; he also designed the churches of St. Martin and St. Mary le Strand, London, and the senate-house, etc., of King's College, Cambridge; died 5 Aug., 1754, bequeathed £100 to St. Bartholomew's Hospital and also to the Foundling, and his books to the Radcliffe Library.
