Hamilton, James (subs. 'Dux'), born at Preston, Lancashire, s. James, (duke). Christ Church, matric. 2 May, 1718, aged 16; created D.C.L. 6 June, 1719, 5th Duke of Hamilton, and 2nd Duke of Brandon, died 1 March, 1742-3. See Foster's Peerage.
