Madan, Rev. Martin, s. Martin, of St. George's, London, arm. Christ Church, matric. 9 Feb., 1742-3, aged 17; B.A. 1746, bar.-at-law, Inner Temple, 1748, author of 'Thelyphthora,' etc., died at Epsom 2 May, 1790, aged 64 (Colonel Martin Madan, his father, M.P. Wotton Bassett 1747-54, died in 1756).
