Merton Coll., matric. 20 June, 1768, aged 17; created M.A. 4 July, 1771, and also D.C.L. 3 (or 5) July, 1810, and Lord Braybrooke, M.P. Grampound 1774-80, Buckingham 1780-2, Reading 1782-97, assumed the additional surname of Griffin by royal licence 27 July, 1797, died 28 Feb., 1825. See Foster's Peerage.
