Nicholson, Sir Charles, created D.C.L. 24 June, 1857, chancellor of the University of Sydney, New South Wales, 1854-60 (o.s. John Nicholson, of London), D.Med. Edinburgh, speaker of the Legislative Assembly, New South Wales, 1845-56, knighted by patent 1 March, 1852, created a baronet 8 April, 1859. See Foster's Baronetage.
