Oliver, Peter, created D.C.L. 3 July, 1776, then chief justice in the province of Massachusetts Bay, America, died at Birmingham, 12 Oct., 1791, aged 78, his son Peter died at Shrewsbury 30 July, 1822, aged 81. See Ripley and Dana's American Cyclopædia.
