Onslow, George, created D.C.L. 8 July, 1773, then of Ember Court, Surrey, P.C. 1767 (son of Arthur Onslow, speaker of the House of Commons 1727-61), 4th Baron Onslow, M.A. from Peter House, Cambridge, 1766, M.P. Rye, Sussex, 1754-60, Surrey 1761-76, a lord of the Treasury 1765-7, created Baron Cranley 20 May, 1776, and became 4th Baron Onslow 8 Oct. following, comptroller of the household 1777, treasurer 1779-80, lord of the bedchamber 1780, a colonel in the army, created Viscount Cranley and Earl of Onslow 19 June, 1801, died 17 May, 1814.
