Pakington, John Somerset, s. William Russell, of Slaughter's Court, Powick, co. Worcester, arm. Oriel Coll., matric. 13 Feb., 1818, aged 18; created D.C.L. 7 June, 1853, Baron Hampton, so created 6 March, 1874, created a baronet 13 July, 1846, G.C.B. 1859, M.P. Droitwich 1837-74, colonial secretary 1852, 1st lord of the Admiralty 1858-9, 1866-7, secretary of War 1867-8, etc., assumed the name of Pakington in lieu of Russell, died 9 April, 1880.
