​Palk, (Sir) Robert (Bart.), s. Walter, of Ashburton, Devon, pleb. Wadham Coll., matric. 15 April, 1736, aged 18; B.A. 1730, governor of Madras 1763. M.P. Ashburton 1767-8 and 1774-87. Wareham 1768-72, created a baronet 10 June, 1782, died 29 April, 1798, ancestor of Lord Haldon.
