Magdalen Hall, matric. 17 Nov., 1788, aged 17; B.A. from Lincoln Coll., 1792, F.R.S. 1815, Speaker's secretary (Abbot) 1802-14, 2nd clerk assist. in the House of Commons 1814-20, clerk assist. 1820, until his death 11 Aug., 1840, compiler of the census returns of 1801, 1811, 1821 and 1831, and of returns of ancient parish registers, etc., died 11 Aug., 1840.
