Cockermouth 1802-6, Haslemere 1807-23, Foreign under-secretary 1805-6, a lord of the Admiralty 1807-11, clerk of the ordnance 1811-23, assumed the additional surname of Plumer, novelist and historical writer, died 13 Aug., 1846.
